Our SHILOH, who was always at work to train up the next generation of pups to be a Canine Good Citizen.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meet Some Of Our Most Recent Dogs and Their Owners Who Have Trained With Us...
Our resedent Labradoodle, MOLLY, welcomes you to take a look!
We are always excited to share with others the joy that people and their dogs are able to share, when the people are able to command their dog with words and hand signals and body language that dogs understand!
* * *
Our Training Methods At SHILOH K9 OBEDIENCE, LLC are based on a common sense approach and our years of experience with people and dogs, and how to help people train and trust their dogs. Dogs also need to be helped to learn to trust their owner(s) in all kinds of life situations and surroundings!
OKAY! So we train little dogs...
BUT;
Did you know that we train
BIG DOGS,
REALLY BIG DOGS,
TOO???
* * *
Meet "FINLEY!"
Finley is a young Great Dane that has been training
with us along with his owners, Danielle and Neil.
Finley has had some mild aggitation aggression issues and mostly a need to learn to trust his owner's choices for who Finley socializes with and how he interacts - with both people and other dogs.
* * *
In this picture, Danielle is using our 3 part hand-signal
to call Finley to COME and to SIT and to LOOK
at his human handler.
The third hand-signal that Danielle is showing
Finley is indicating to her dog to sit once he comes to her -
we tell our clients to put both of their hands together
and bring them to their face, and
"PRAY THAT THEIR DOG SITS!"
"HEY, LOOK, IT WORKS!!!"
"GOOD BOY, FINLEY, GOOD COME!"
When Danielle commands Finley to "HEEL" the most important thing for Finley to do when Danielle stops walking, is for Finley to stop too!
Finley is being conditioned with our training method
to automatically stop, sit and look at
his human handler when his handler stops.
THIS COMES IN REAL HANDY WHEN YOU WALK YOUR 150lb. DOG UP TO A BUSY INTERSECTION AND YOU NEED TO CHECK FOR TRAFFIC BEFORE YOU AND YOUR CANINE COMPANION CROSS THE ROAD...
Forcing any dog to obey a command
or to engage with you as its owner and handler
is not the right method!
"DO YOU REALLY THINK IT IS POSSIBLE TO "FORCE" FINLEY TO DO ANYTHING THAT FINLEY DOES NOT WANT TO DO???"
* * *
Finley takes one look and says;
"WHHHAAAAAAT???"
"You Want Me, Little O'l Me
(all 150lbs. of ME)
to walk up this 45 degree
angled ramp and
to get on that stand -
are you crazy?"
With a whole lot of excitement and praise,
(AND MAJOR TREAT INCENTIVES),
sure enough, Finley's owners, Danielle and Neil,
work together as "TEAM FINLEY,"
and look at what happens as
Finley learns that his owners can be
TRUSTED to be OBEYED,
to do what they engage Finley to do with them at his side!
"GO UP, ONE STEP AT A TIME, GOOD BOY, FINLEY..."
"HURRAY FINLEY,
BIG BOY,
YOU DID IT!!!"
"Sure Enough, WHAT GOES UP, MUST COME DOWN..."
"FINLEY, YOU DID IT - GREAT WORK.."
"TEAM FINLEY, YOU ARE A GREAT TEAM!!!"

Makayla is engaging this German Shepherd Mix, "LIDDY," as her owner, "MEGAN," introduces her beautiful dog to meet and greet another person in a friendly manner.
This is part of the 10 things a dog has to do right in order to pass
the American Kennel Club, "CANINE GOOD CITIZEN" test.
"YES, GOOD GIRL, LIDDY!"
One of the most difficult things to do as a dog handler
is to keep your canine's attention on you and to
remain calm around another dog.
Megan and her dog, Liddy, (on the right),
are doing a very fine job of ignoring
the other dog in the room!
"YES!" Megan has accomplished a wonderful goal of realizing the result of the hard, but fun work of developing a canine companion to be able to pass and be certified as a "CANINE GOOD CITIZEN!"
"GOOD WORK, TEAM LIDDY!"
THIS IS WHAT MEGAN HAD TO SAY ABOUT
SHILOH K9 OBEDIENCE ON HER FACEBOOK PAGE...
Shiloh K9 was my last hope. I was really starting to feel like my dog was miserable and I wasn’t sure how to comfort her or help her. I called and talked to David and he was a huge help with calming me down and letting me know he can help with any dog. I decided to give it a try.
He gave me so many helpful tips the first session. I was blown away by all of his knowledge and how he could read dogs. He warned me that things could be difficult and prepped me on how to handle Liddy when training her. The fact that he took all the time to make sure both Liddy and I were comfortable with everything, at that point I knew I wanted to work with David and his team. I signed up for another session right away.
There were a lot of changes that I needed to do at home, a lot of at home training but he gave me a lot of information to help with any situation I might face and was always available for any questions that might come up!!
I always felt like my dog was in good hands and everything we were doing was to better her life! It was all about making her trust us and situations around her.
I would suggest his training facility to anyone. I’ll even be taking her back for additional training. I am so happy I found someone who knows how to handle dogs with difficult personalities.

Survey Question #1
What is your overall view of the Training & Boarding provided for your dog?
The overall training provided to myself and Baja was amazing and resourceful. I learned so much about my dog, and dog behaviors that I was not aware of when I started training.
Survey Question #2:
Do you feel that you learned helpful instruction about Training & Handling your dog by using our services?
3 = very helpful
Survey Question #3:
Is your dog better Trained in Obedience and improved Behavior since it came to SHILOH K9 Obedience….LLC?
3 = much better
Comments:
A. I learned to trust my dog and to rely on her mannerism to tell me how she is feeling. I also learned that my dog enjoys having a job, so with obedience she thrived in learning and doing different tasks.
B. My future training goals for Baja are endless. She has so much potential. I have considered agility competitions, therapy lessons and search and rescue. I am leaning more towards therapy lessons and some agility.
C. One suggestion would be to train while other dogs and handlers are there at the same time. This may happen already, but since I did private lessons group activities may not be included.
D. Yes, I am 100% likely to recommend Shiloh K9 Obedience to others. I have already told several friends about all the things Baja is able to do since doing training at Shiloh's. I have also told people where we have trained when they come up to me and tell me how well behaved my dog is.

The facilities are top notch and excellent for what a dog needs to become acclimated to the environment it will find at home. Everything the dog could need - from crates to the training facility to the outdoors - are steps from each other. The facilities are clean and safe - excellent for dogs of any age!

Comments:
We received our dog, Beau, from Maggie, the owner of Lauderdoodles. Through her, we discovered David's services. Prior to this, we were looking for a trainer who could train our puppy and browsed many. None had a methodology we agreed with until we saw David's website - that's what led us to calling him. David uses humane methods to train his dogs - just lots of love, patience, and care. That is all. His years of experience shine through when trying to understand a dog's psyche and he was more than patient in teaching what we need to know. We made several visits during the course of Beau's four week board and train program and David was more than happy to have us there working with the dog while teaching us. I've recommended, and will be recommending more, friends to David. He's always accessible via phone and is committed to the success of the dog even after they leave training. At five months now, we constantly receive compliments to our dog's behavior in public and at home - all to the credit of David!

More Training Pictures of Abhi working with Beau...
As Abhi stops walking Beau in a "HEEL" command, Beau is being conditioned to automatically stop, sit, and watch Abhi.
After commanding his dog to obey the "DOWN" command, Abhi places a fist in front of Beau, giving his dog a "STAY" command.
Abhi calls his dog to "COME," as Beau runs to his owner, Abhi uses our hand signal to cue Beau to sit and look at his owner.
All of Abhi's accomplishments with his great puppy, Beau, are due to Abhi's commitment to learn our training methods and to practice using the tools that we educate our clients to use to achieve engaging their canine companion to be a happy, obedient dog!
"GREAT WORK, TEAM BEAU!"

Meet "BEAU," a young male German Shepherd Dog...
[Beau trained and boarded with us for 4 weeks. He is owned by Kelly & John]
Meet "BLUE," a three year old (Husky), his owner, Jennifer, is learning how to develop the eye contact with her dog in order to have it keep its attention on her in all kinds of distracting situations!
Meet "ANNABELLE," a 5 month old Labradore, her owner, Nicole (and her daughter), are training with Annabelle each following their dog's 2 week time of TRAINING & BOARDING with us.
Annabelle loves to give her humans engaging eye contact as they work to have her focus on them.
Everyone in the family is happy to go home with Annabelle since her time being trained and socialized at SHILOH K9 OBEDIENCE...LLC.
Meet "TEDDY," his owner, Paula, brought Teddy to train and board with us for two weeks.
Teddy rapidly advanced in his obedience training and socialization with people and other dogs.
Teddy's eye riviting contact with extreme focus and the desire to please his owner is off the charts!
Meet "TEDDY & HUDSON," believe it or not they are brothers from the same litter of puppys. Their owners, Ceia and Brad brought them to us from accross the State to TRAIN & BOARD with us for 4 weeks.
The challenge is always bigger when two or more dogs are born into the same puppy litter and raised together.
Such dogs always love to engage with one another more than their human owners. They also like to team up and try to control the humans in their life too!
After hard and dedicated work in learning how to engage and to control TEDDY & HUDSON during several training sessions to learn what we had developed in their dogs, with our training and socialization methods, Ceia and Brad are going home with new skills to handle and to enjoy their precious pups!
Meet ""BELLA MAY," an OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG!
They are not a common breed owned by many people, but Bella's owner, Dawn, is excellent at working with her beautiful girl in training and engaging Bella with the methods that we use at SHILOH K9 OBEDIENCE...LLC.
"WHO SAYS DOG TRAINING
ISN'T ANY FUN???"

We worked on more advanced obedience and socialization.
Hero and his owner, "MaLisa," went home happy.
Hope (Labradoodle) is learning to heel
by walking in step with her owner, Charlie.
Hope learned to trust Charlie
as she ran through the tunnel to meet her owner.
Jack, a six year old (German Shepherd) never learned to sleep in a crate. He has since been introduced to the restful sleep-time in his crate and now loves to be in it.
His owner, Ellie, is walking Jackmaround his crate without Jack reacting negatively.
Ellie can sit down and Jack
is content to just remain in his crate.
Jake's other owner, Dan,
engages Jack in a controlled game of fetch.
Jake, a 5 1/2 month old (Labrador)
is a hyper boy and is learning to calm down
and focus on his owner, Tom. "SIT, Yes, Good Boy!"
Jake is also learning to be calm while his owner pets him.
Lola, a 4 year old (Malinois) is learning advanced obedience through trusting her owner, Domini.
"WALK IT, YES, GOOD GIRL!"
Trust goes both ways! Lola's owner, Domini,
trusts the dog by not looking at her after giving Lola
a down and stay command.
LOLA is trustworthy!
Maverick a 9 month old (German Shepherd) is doing advanced training to search and find an item.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When we, ( David & Karen) were on vacation to celebrate our 40th. Wedding Anniversary, we came across this metal sculpture of a boy with his dogs and an onlooking cat!
Ironically, the artist named his masterpiece,
"PEACE KEEPER!"
Our SHILOH K9 OBEDIENCE Training & Boarding Center
is named after our now past dog, "SHILOH!"
In Hebrew, Shiloh means:
"Place of Peace!" Shiloh was registered with the AKC as "SHILOH, Dee's Peace Maker!"
We are reminded by this special moment in time how blessed we are by THE LORD to be TRAINING & BOARDING your K9 friend(s), and how wonderful it is that GOD uses one of His beautiful creatures to bring an experience of PEACE between people and their obedient and socailized dog!

Take A Look At The Dogs
We Have TRAINED & BOARDED
From The Past!
* * *
Mary, one of our assistant trainers at SHILOH K9 OBEDIENCE, LLC, is holding "Willow," an 11 week old Golden Retriever, owned by Eric and Emily from Bloomfield, MI.
As you can plainly see, we love dogs and puppies of all kinds!
Looks like WILLOW loves Mary too!
Willow is even learning to obey commands
from Eric and Emily's children.
"DOWN & STAY!"
"Good girl, WILLOW!!!"
Dad steps in to reinforce the "DOWN" command for WILLOW.
Emily is already working with WILLOW to "HEEL" on a leash!
WILLOW is learning how to properly "MEET & GREET"
people of all ages and sizes.
Eric is helping WILLOW to trust him and to have fun doing so.
It is a potentially fearful thing, (especially for a little puppy).
to enter into the unkown tunnel... where does it all lead to?
"IT'S DAD!!!"
"Yes, GOOD GIRL, WILLOW!"
When a dog of any age learns to TRUST their owner it makes for new and fun discoverys for both the human and the dog!
Dan's dog, HANS, a Wirehaired Pointing Griffin, TRAINED and BOARDED with us for 2 weeks.
HANS stops and looks at Dan, just before sitting at his side after stopping from heeling at Dan's side.
HANS not only learned to be more focused and gentle around his humans, but he learned proper social skills around the other K9s training and boarding with us.
Instead of jumping all over RONJA, the German Shepherd Mix,
HANS laid down and waited for RONJA to approach him.
GOOD WORK, HANS - and you too, RONJA!
After a dozen 1 hour training sessions, Joan and her young German Shepherd Dog, MONTANA, earned the award of CANINE GOOD CITIZEN! Montana had some human fear aggressions and dog on dog aggressions when she first started training with us. BUT, she learned not only basic, but advanced obedience commands and how to respect and be socialable to both new people and other dogs!
GOOD WORK, "TEAM MONTANA!!!"
MEET "GUS!"
Yes, his facial expression tells the story about his personality!
"I'm cool, I'm confident, I'm cute, and I'm up for any challenge!"
GUS Trained and Boarded with us for 5 weeks.
GUS learned to obey and respect everyone in his human family.
"SIT & STAY, Yes, Good Boy, GUS!"
"GUS HEEL!"
His look says:
"Just use a full sentence and tell me that you want me to walk right by your side, step by step, and to automatically stop and sit at your side when you stop walking! I'll get it right, TRUST ME!!!"
"GUS, go under the bench - YES, GOOD BOY!"
"GUS, I want you to learn to BACK UP in a straight line;
GOOD WORK, Yes, GUS!"
"COME GUS, and sit down in front of me and watch me!"
"THIS IS MY SIT; the concrete floor is COLD!"
GUS goes home with all of his wonderful human family.
They all learned how to handle GUS in order to gain his confident trust in them and to obey their commands willingly.
OKAY, so GUS sees it a different way...
GUS says, under his doggy breath:
"SEE, I got em all standing at attention for this picture; it ain't easy getten humans to smile all at the same time - I had to give them one of my many "SILLY FACES" to get this result!!!"
Elizabeth's German Shepherd Mix, RONJA,
trained and boarded with us for two weeks.
RONJA learned the basic obedience commands to
"COME, SIT, DOWN, STAY & HEEL!"
"WATCH ME, Yes, Good Girl, RONJA!"
"DOWN & STAY, Good Girl, RONJA!"
Kelly and her husband, Mark, brought their 1 year old
German Shepherd Dog, BRUNO to us to have him
TRAIN & BOARD for three weeks!
BRUNO came to us unfocused, fear aggressive, having separation anxiety, and limited ability to be engaged with other dogs without fear.
BRUNO learned to WATCH his owners, MARK and KELLY, without being fearful of other people entering into his space when he was with his human family.
BRUNO learned to allow his owners to MEET & GREET
people while SITTING & STAYING in place!
BRUNO also learned to be calm around other K9s,
under the command of his owners.
BRUNO was not the only one happy to go back home, his owners are so happy too that BRUNO is learning to overcome his fear aggressions and separation anxiety issues.
"GOOD WORK, TEAM BRUNO!"
TITUS, is a dominant male German Shepherd Dog.
He trained and boarded with us for 4 weeks.
His owners, Cheryl and Scott, have learned how to control their working line German Shepherd's DOMINANCE.
Inviting TITUS to "WATCH" gave Cheryl the ability to keep BRUNO focused on what behavior she wanted and did not want from her dog.
Mark gave BRUNO a firm "DOWN & STAY" command and gained human control over the dog's natural tendency to control his humans.
Cheryl commands TITUS to "HEEL,"
to go in the direction that she is walking at the speed she is walking.
This control over TITUS gives Cheryl the ability to
keep TITUS in step with her in more ways than one.
Cheryl and Mark have a whole lot of DOG, in BRUNO!
He is a working line German Shepherd, he is dominant over other dogs, his prey drive is strong and his temperament is hard.
HE IS A WORKING DOG OWNER'S DREAM DOG!
Now TITUS' owners have the tools to work with
to work their working line boy, TITUS!
"GOOD WORK, TEAM TITUS!!!"
Lori's Labradoodle, CHIP, trained and boarded with us for about 3 weeks. CHIP needed to learn basic obedience commands and how to properly interact calmly around people and other dogs.
Keeping CHIP focused and calm by being an engaging handler is the skill needed to handle a smart and often stubborn boy like, CHIP!
CHIP really developed nicely and he went home calmer and much more willing to obey the clearly given commands of his owners.
Teresa, from my old home town of Clakston, MI, brought
TEDDY to train and board with us for 4 weeks.
TEDDY is an outstanding example of
a very well bred Bernese Mt. Dog.
He came to us as a shy boy and left us
as an emboldened and happy dog.
"WATCH ME!"
HEEL, leave the dog alone, Good Boy, TEDDY!
TEDDY says:
Yah, I'm ready to take on the world!
