David Emerick Dee
(October 12, 1923 - May 2, 2011)
I have a special place in my heart for USA War Veterans. My dad was in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was the Tech Sergeant on a B17 Bomber, and was shot down with his crew. They all survived, but spent a year in a German Prison Camp. Dad was on a forced 800 mile march at the end of the War, during the winter months. He weighed 97lbs. when he was liberated by the English!
When I was five years old, my dad came home with a 9mo. old purebred collie, named "Laddie!" Laddie had to be left at an animal shelter because his owner was drafted into the Vietnam War. Dad rescued the dog that was to be my first and longest lasting experience of being a dog owner/trainer! I raised Laddie (or should I say, Laddie raised me), for 13 years - what happy, valuable life lessons were learned with my K9 friend! Thanks Dad...
My dad died on May 2, 2011 and is now with his Lord God in heaven, but my life-long memories of him are more and more cherished every day! You men and women of the Armed Forces are much to be congratulated for your faithful and sacrificial service to our Country. Thank you for working to keep us safe and secure!
If I can be of any help in aiding you with a well-trained K9 companion as a Veteran, please let me know. It would be my privilege to work with you and serve you in training a dog that will bring you joy and be of service to you!

Meet David and his GSD, "Süss!"
They are from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Süss has returned to us to spend his second 4 week time of TRAINING & BOARDING with us to become more advanced in learning commands and behaviors to enable Süss to be David's "COMPANION SERVICE DOG!"
In this picture, David is engaging Süss to mark
a new skill of crawling on the floor underneath a line of folding chairs.
The more variety of obedience commands and social behaviors a canine is able to learn, the more suited such a dog is for qualifying as a "THERAPY and/or a SERVICE DOG!"

Meet Dana and here dog "COLE!"
Dana and Cole live in Saginaw, Michigan.
Cole is a Lab/Greyhound Mix. He is 3 1/2 years old.
Cole is being trained by us to be Dana's COMPANION SERVICE DOG!"
Dana served our country as a Colonel in the United States Military.
The goal of Cole's trainging is for him to be in the daily company at the United States Veteran's Facility in Saginaw, MI.
"HEEL COLE!"
"DOWN & STAY!"
Learning to TRUST our K9 companion is essential for being able to go public with it. For a dog to stay in a down position while its owner turns their back on it and walks away, is very callenging to the dog!
GOOD WORK,
"TEAM COLE!"

My Personal History
With My FIRST,
BEST K9 FRIEND!!!
When I turned 5 years old,
my Dad thought that
I should have my own dog!
* * *
The year was 1961. My parents both raised my sister and me to see things in BLACK & WHITE! In the 1960's, things in life were being turned into all shades of gray. BUT, the Christian and Biblical teachings and training that I received stayed BLACK & WHITE!
To this day, that is how I view the world. Things are either BLACK or WHITE, GOOD or EVIL, RIGHT or WRONG - and things are not twisted and turned into a mass or mess of confusion by calling GOOD, EVIL, and EVIL,GOOD! RIGHT IS RIGHT, and WRONG IS WRONG!
This is THE WORKING PREMISE AND PRINCIPLE that I have used in my training and conditioning of all of the dogs that I have owned and/or trained and conditioned for other people!
It makes life for people and dogs so much clearer to see and to function in, when you can be given a reward for doing right and a correction for doing wrong. Both people and dogs know where they stand with you when you fairly and firmly provide such a structure for them to live within as a person, or as a canine!

MEET MY FIRST DOG:
"LADDIE!"
In Black & White...
When I was growing up as a boy, I loved to watch Black & White Television when the programs were about DOGS!"
"RIN-TIN-TIN," "OLD YELLER,"
and,
Oh Yes,
"LASSIE!!!!"
I thought that I owned LASSIE, only his name was...
"LADDIE!"
As I began to spiritually and physically mature in the things of life, as the beauty and wonder of GOD'S CREATION began to be more intelligible to me,
a Little Bit Of "COLOR" started to emerge as the 1960's turned into the 70's, and beyond...
It is so joyful to live in time in the light of eternity!
It is so spectacular, to see life in LIVING COLOR, as GOD'S GLORY AND GRACE is revealed in both the natural and the supernatural world!
GOD is so kind to give us all something or someone to help us learn lessons in life that teach us the difference between Black & White!
GOD can even use a DOG to show and tell us such truth and reality!
My Collie, LADDIE, was both a gentle soul, and he could show his teeth if anyone or anything became a personal threat to me!
* * *
I am still so very grateful to my parents for getting me such a super K9 friend when I was just a boy!
Now, as a married man, with children and grandchildren of my own, I am even more grateful to my Dad and Mom for living their whole married life before me and others, with GOD as their FIRST LOVE - and for loving me and others so selflessly and in such BOLD COLORS of GOD'S GLORY AND GRACE!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"OKAY!"
"Don't Start With The...
A FACE SO UGLY, ONLY A MOTHER
COULD LOVE TO LOOK AT IT... Line!!!"
"MY NAME IS "NYDIA," AND I AM ONLY
A 4 MONTH OLD, 65lb.
Neapolitan Mastiff!"
"When I grow up, I am going to end up weighing 160lbs.
"Whatever or Whoever I SIT ON,
that thing or that person cannot move.
SO SHOW ME SOME RESPECT NOW,
AND I WON'T SIT ON YOU LATER!!!"
NYDIA is owned by a United States Military Veteran,
Cameron. He lives in Houghton, MI.
NYDIA is TRAINING & BOARDING with us for 2 months.
She will be learning to obey commands and interact
with Cameron as his MOBILITY SERVICE DOG!
David's wife, Karen, engages NYDIA to follow her around.
This is to prepare NYDIA for her to keep in step with her owner, Cameron.
"DANCING WITH THE DOGS!"
What a beautiful sight,
to see a man with his dog, walking
in harmony, with one another!
In public, NYDIA will need to be "DOG FRIENDLY!"
REMI is the 12 year old female BLACK LAB/MIX, she is helping NYDIA learn to respect her elder K9s.
A "SERVICE DOG" Must Learn To "TRUST" Its Owner.
Engaging NYDIA to walk on a ramp that she has never seen or stepped on before, is a little fearful to her.
Cameron is working to help NYDIA know that it is safe and fun to walk on the ramp as she is excited to do, by following after one of her favorite toys.
"ONE SMALL (okay, ONE GIANT STEP) for NYDIA,
ONE GIANT LEAP for NEAPOLITAN MASTIFFS!"
"YES, GOOD GIRL, NYDIA!!!"
KEEP CHECKING BACK TO "WATCH" WHAT NYDIA LEARNS TO DO NEXT, AS SHE KEEPS "WATCHING" HER OWNER, CAMERON.
